Simple constant current ac impedance technique using lock-in amplifier has been studied for the determination of solution conductivity by submillimeter dimensional conductance cell. The complex plane impedance diagrams show that the driving ac current excitation signal should be downed as low as possible to avoid the complicated electrical response of microelectrochemical system. Below the driving ac current, 4X 10 ¢¥A, the impedance of microelectrochemical system could be simplified to the equivalent circuit of conductance cell ; a series combination of solution resistance, R and combined capacitance, C are in parallel with combinied parallel capacitance, Cp. Application of the technique is illustrated with studies of agar gel conductivity and with kinetic studies of the acetylchloride ethanolysis reaction.
